Welcome to our mountain town! The Town of Marshall is nestled in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina on the banks of the French Broad River. Our web site is one source of information about our government and community and continues to evolve to meet the information needs of our community. Your comments and suggestions are welcome.
Marshall is home to an historical county courthouse, jamming every Thursday night at Zumas, dancing every Friday night at The Depot , an authentic old-time general store and hardware stores, art galleries, shops with unique home decor and gifts, three new restaurants cooking with produce from local farms, a Sunday afternoon farmers market on the island, and more. Marshall is also rich in history, scenery, outdoor activities and mountain culture.
Serving the mountain community, Marshall provides needed stores such as hardware and grocery, county services, Neighbors in Need, holiday events, and the home offices for the county libraries .
Marshall is also becoming a center for artists. Galleries on the island and downtown, classes, exhibits, and shows and concerts at the Madison County Arts Center celebrate art, often centered on mountain culture.
